Phantom is no longer standing for ouside mares.
Born May 10, 2000, Phantom is an FPS registered, Old Fashioned "baroque" type purebred Friesian stallion, standing at 16.2 hh. Phantom's sire, Brandus (Preferent stallion Reitse 272 x Ster mare Hoogheid) , was 1997-98 World Champion, 2003 Dutch Reserve World Champion, and voted "Best Performance Stallion Ever Evaluated" by a central judging committe in Holland. Phantom is also of the Tetman line, the most influential Friesian bloodline.
Phantom is very quiet, an absolute lovebug (he'd crawl into your lap if he could!) with a personality that is sure to enchant you! Phantom is currently being trained for Dressage and Driving, and is taking a break from showing this year.
His first foal was born in 2003. All of his foals are eligible to be registered in the International Friesian Cross Association, Friesian Blood Horse Registry and International Registry of Colored Horses, as well as respective half-breed registries (e.g., if your mare is Quarter Horse, the foal could be registered half-quarter horse. The same goes for
Paints, Pintos, Walkers, Arabians, etc)
Phantom was shown for three consecutive years at California Dressage Society Lake County Chapter schooling shows, and placed 7th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd over the course of those three years.
Phantom was also shown in driving at the 2004 California Carriage Classic.
Phantom has had 9 beautiful foals to date.

He has good conformation and carries himself beautifully, with a very regal, arched neck. He is curious and friendly and loves to follow you around.
He is registered in the Friesian Blood Horse Registry. He was gelded on March 17th. He definitely sports the "Friesian" look, with a full mane and tail, and feathers. He will most likely be just as tall as his parents- about 16.2 hh.

Stardust "Dusty"
Meet Stardust, born May 4th 2008 out of our Trakehner/Paint mare, Gracie, and our Friesian stud, Phantom. Stardust "Dusty" is a beautiful black gelding yearling with a star. He takes after his father- is very friendly and curious, loves attention.
Runaway Desire "Skye"
(King Fritz Two x Runaway With Me) Skye is a 9 year old double-registered FQHA/AQHA blue roan Foundation Quarter Horse mare. At 15 hh, she is broke for western pleasure and is an excelent trail horse. Some of Skye's pedigree includes Sugar Bars Image (Sugar Bars x Dawson Beauty), Tabby Dexterity (Wimpy the cat x Piu Dexterity), and her grandsire, King Fritz, the legendary cutting horse sire, who was an AQHA grand champion, and held a Performance Register of Merit. Skye was nominated to the AQHA Incentive Fund as a foal. The pictures do not do this beauty justice!
Lauries Miss Holly "Missy"
(Pavion Del Rey x Lauries Miss Isin) Missy is an APHA registered 14 year old Chestnut Tobiano Paint mare (pictured here with her 2002 colt Mr. T), standing 14.2 hh. She was a Search and Rescue horse in her younger days, and now is a wonderful brood mare (possibly Homozygous- we will eventually be having her tested). Unfortunately, we can no longer ride her due to her fractured knee. She has wonderful color and personality that she throws to her foals, and good conformation. She is a descendant of Painted Jewel.
Mein Anmutiger Schatten "Gracie"
(Elfenzauber x Three Spots Doll) Mein Anmutiger Schatten (German for "My Graceful Shadow") Gracie is a 6 year old pure black Trakehner/Paint mare, registered in the IRC, standing 16.2 hh. She has the most sweetest disposition. She is 90 days broke under saddle for English, and I hope to eventually train her in dressage. Gracie has excelent conformation, and a wonderful, willing personality, true to her Trakehner lineage. Her pedigree includes Painted Jewel, who was three times APHA grand champion, three times APHA reserve grand champion, holds 22 Halter points, 12 performance points, and a Register of Merit. She also is a descendant of the legendary Sugar Bars. On her Trekehner side, she is a descendant of Elfe, who survived the WW11 "Trek" from East Prussia to West Germany, Magnet, whose offspring are known for their quiet temperament, good bone and ground covering movement, and Sterndeuter, who represents the Stern line (known for their pleasant temperaments, good gaits and consistent type).

Moonscape Ranch was founded in 2002 in Lake County, California, with a dream to produce beautiful, calm, gentle, and affordable Friesians. This dream led to our decision to breed the Friesian Cross. The physical location of Moonscape Ranch has moved over the years, and we are still in search of our perfect property.

* After I breed my mare to Phantom, where can I register the foal?
We are no longer standing Phantom for outside mares; however, if you have a Friesian Cross foal, or are looking to buy one of ours, you have several registration options. All Friesian Cross foals can be registered in the Friesian Blood Horse Registry. You also have the option of registering in respective half-breed registries (such as Half-Quarter Horse, Half-Arabian, etc).
* Why is Phantom not registered in FHANA?
Because FHANA (Friesian Horse Association of North America) does not allow cross-breeding.
* Is Phantom registered or approved anywhere?
Yes, he is registered in the FPS (Friesch Paarden-Stamboek, the original Dutch registry). We also hope to eventually have him approved in the FBHR (Friesian Blood Horse Registry).
* Will you be showing your horses?
We have shown Phantom in the past and hope to eventually show him again, though at the moment we are not able to.
* What kind of horses do you breed? What kind of horses do you cross with?
We breed Friesian Crosses. We cross to our mares, who are Paint, Quarter Horse, and a Paint/Trakehner cross.
* Will you ever breed purebred Friesians?
Hopefully eventually, but not for some time.
